Ingredients
1 pound Certified Angus Beef® ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup diced bell peppers
1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, leaves separated
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion becomes translucent.
- Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and grated ginger. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until well combined.
- Add the shredded carrots, diced bell peppers, and chopped water chestnuts. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and spoon the beef mixture into the separated lettuce leaves.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
