Ingredients

Scale

1 pound Certified Angus Beef® ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 cup shredded carrots

1 cup diced bell peppers

1/2 cup chopped water chestnuts

1/4 cup chopped green onions

1 head butter lettuce or romaine lettuce, leaves separated

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and grated ginger. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  4. Add the shredded carrots, diced bell peppers, and chopped water chestnuts. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, ensuring the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped green onions and cook for another minute.
  6. Remove from heat and spoon the beef mixture into the separated lettuce leaves.
  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
