Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds Certified Angus Beef ® sirloin steak, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
12 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sirloin steak and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
- Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables and stir well to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.
- Gradually stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Return the browned beef to the skillet and stir in the sour cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the beef is heated through and the sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For extra flavor, use a combination of cremini and white mushrooms.
Serve with a side of green beans or a fresh garden salad for a balanced meal.
