Ingredients
2.5 pounds chicken wings
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup Sriracha hot chili sauce
1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
1 pinch sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place an oven-proof wire rack over the foil.
2. Prepare the Wings:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the baking powder, kosher salt, ground black pepper, and smoked paprika.
3. Coat the Wings:
- Place the chicken wings in a large bowl. Sprinkle half of the baking powder mixture over the wings and toss to coat. Repeat with the remaining baking powder mixture, tossing well to ensure the wings are evenly coated.
4. Bake the Wings:
- Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and golden brown.
5. Prepare the Glaze:
- While the wings are baking, combine the honey, Sriracha hot chili sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture is well combined and heated through, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat.
6. Glaze the Wings:
- Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey-sriracha glaze over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
7. Serve:
- Arrange the glazed wings on a serving platter. Garnish with a pinch of sesame seeds and serve hot.
Notes
For extra crispy wings, allow the coated wings to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before baking.
These wings pair well with a cooling ranch or blue cheese dip.
