Ingredients
1 pound Certified Angus Beef Sirloin Steak, thinly sliced
1 cup long grain rice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons corn starch
1 teaspoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Juice and zest of 1 lime
2 tablespoons peanut or canola oil, divided
8 ounces snow peas
1 yellow or red bell pepper, seeded and thinly sliced
1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
1 tablespoon chopped fresh garlic
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Prepare Rice: Cook the rice according to package directions and keep warm.
2. Make Sauce: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, corn starch, fish sauce, sesame oil, lime zest, and lime juice. Set aside.
3. Cook Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of peanut oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. When the oil is hot, add half of the steak strips and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until browned. Remove the strips from the skillet and repeat with the remaining strips, adding more oil if necessary.
4. Cook Vegetables: Add the remaining tablespoon of peanut oil to the skillet. Stir-fry the snow peas and bell peppers for 1-2 minutes until they begin to soften.
5. Combine Ingredients: Stir in the ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Add the stir fry sauce to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until the sauce starts to thicken. Return the steak strips to the skillet and toss to combine.
6. Serve the stir fry over the warm rice.
Notes
Vegetable Variations: Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli, carrots, or mushrooms to the stir fry.
Spice Level: Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes to suit your desired spice level.
Pairing Suggestion: Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor and texture.
